As a dancing master of the new expressionism in German, Pina Bausch is a landmark in the world’s dancing history.The "Dancing Theatre"and the new body aesthetics that she initiated have become a model in the field of dance and even the field of drama. Her dancing aesthetics is not only a kind of a new relationship between body and theatre,but also a kind of a strong criticism against humanity and society.The "Dancing Theatre"of Pina Bausch means a kind of return of art form.Behind its unique style.there is a close connection with the development of European theater and its style and the connection is reflected by the comprehension and expression about "theatricality" of Pina Bausch.By combing the development of "theater" and related theories, we can make a summary of the characteristics of "theatricality" into ritual, communication, performance, comprehensive and political. On this basis, we can regard "theatricality" as an effective breakthrough to understand the Pina Bausch’s "Dancing Theatre".Based on the overall understanding, as a cross art form between dance and drama, the "Dancing Theatre" touch upon several problems, such as the application of "theatricality"、the achievement of artistic effects、and the expression of other art forms’characteristics from the "Dance Theatre" art practice, this paper is conducted to analyze the concrete manifestation of "theatricality" and its positive role in three aspects:space design,narrative strategies and cross-border practice,which can provide new research ideas and directions in the research of "theatricality"...
