Lu Zaiyi is a famous contemporary composer in China, whose work on lied and chorus are proved a great achievement, especially on chorus which is a banner of our chorus creation in the new era.He has made great achievement in the field of Lied and chorus, with his chorus works as a landmark in chorus creation during the new era of the country And his cantata works, no matter on the genre, musical form structure and harmonic technique, they all made pioneering exploration, attained great achievement.Furthermore, his cantata works have made pioneering exploration in terms of genre, musical form structure and harmonic technique, attaining great achievement)His works combine modern music techniques and Chinese folk music, with beautiful melody and sincere feelings, which highlighted Mr. Lu’s exploration and pursuit in the law of Chinese chorus. Mr. Lu is the person in China who has been crowned the highest-level prize of Chinese music—Golden Bell Award for three times. Despite this, there are few concerns and studies on his chorus works. Therefore, this paper aims at contributing to the development of Chinese chorus, providing some reference for singers and commanders, and arousing people’s attention to Mr. Lu’s chorus.and hoping that more importance can be attached to Mr. Lu’s works.This paper selected part of Mr. Lu’s chorus works, and analyzes the lyrics, melody, music image, genre, the use of padding syllable and the piano accompaniment. Besides, this paper has explored how to perform those works on singing and commanding so as to grasp the deep meaning of the style of the work, interpret the works in a better way and truly reflect the essence of Mr. Lu’s chorus works.The thesis has been incorporated by three parts, including introduction, text and conclusion.
