Physical oceanography has entered the era of the mesoscalevortex. The vortex is the most direct reflection of the oceanographicenvironment, it reflect the current velocity, flow changes, as well asocean currents shift directly, the vortex is an important carrier of energyand material. A Whole research of the vortex temporal and spatialvariation can better grasp the process of composition, evolution andtransmission of the flow in the region; Cyclonic vortex and theanticyclonic vortex temporal and spatial variation research, oceanmesoscale phenomena generated, the evolution and powermechanism to provide theoretical and technical support, and inclimate forecasting, fishery production, the military oceanographyhave a special meaning.This paper used18years AVISO sea surface height anomaly data,interpolation in Matlab platform and removed the topographic effects,And then use the classic geostrophic currents calculation method andthe technology to determine the vortex core based on Okubo-Weissfunction, extracted the vortex core from the flow field and excludingthe irrational part;Comprehensive previous studies in northeasternTaiwan, the paper divided northeast of Taiwan into four major regionsas follows: the northwestern Taiwan, eastern Taiwan which north theSuao, near the Pengchiayu Islands, and near the Diaoyu Islands. Thevortex characteristic changes in northeast of Taiwan, year by year,seasonal, the monthly variation of the cyclonic eddies and theanticyclonic eddies spatial variation, the following conclusions:(1) This article counted the number of the vortex appeared in beendivided four regions northeastern of Taiwan, cyclonic eddies andanti-cyclonic eddies appeared in all region. Vortex distribution has significant seasonal variation in studying area. Cyclonic eddiesappeared in northern Taiwan and Pengjia Island in spring, then movedtowards east and appeared in Diaoyu island in summer, after that itmoved towards west and appeared in northern Taiwan in autumn atlast in winter times eddies was still in northern Taiwan but the locationwas a little bit west compared to what was in autumn and winter.Anti-cyclonic eddies appeared near the Diaoyu islands in spring, then itmoved towards west and appeared in northern Taiwan in summer, afterthat it moved towards east and appeared near Diaoyu islands inautumn, at last eddies moved towards west and appeared nearPengjia island in winter.(2) Compared the vortex seasonal changes in four region, it can befound that there no significant variation in spring, summer and autumn,cyclonic eddies had five-year cycle in winter; anti-cyclonic eddiesappeared between Pengjia islands and Diaoyu islands except1997and2007. Cyclonic and anti-cyclonic eddies often appeared in pairsand synchronized swing east to west.(3) The number change of the vortex northeast of Taiwan bymonth average, cyclonic vortex appears less frequently of the previoussix months, occur more frequently after six months, the number ofvertices appears in autumn; Number of anticyclonic vortex in theprevious six months more than in the after six months, the number ofvertices appears in spring, the fewer number of vertices in seasonalternately when the spring and summer, autumn and winter. By yearaverage, the maximum number of the vortex appeared in1999, thestatistics of cyclonic vortex on the phenotype for a more stable rise, thenumber have larger twists before2001and wave the amplitude wassignificantly slowed down after2001; Anticyclonic vortex have twistphenomenon, and the maximum number of vortex appeared in1999.(4) Vortex perennial exist in northeast of Taiwan, showing cyclonic vortex and anticyclonic vortex. From Q/q0maps can clearly see, thereare obvious extreme points from January to May and September toDecember; and also there are obvious extreme points from June toAugust only relatively weak. Distribution statistics month everyyear,vortex positon is relatively stable in January, May, August andNovember. While the other months in the season alternating time, thevortex position instability have irregular changes by the ocean currents,sea surface temperature rise or fall; there are anomalies which havelarge differences in1997and1998every month, may be related to theEl Nino.(5) This paper contrast with the Kuroshio surface swing and thevortex distribution: and changes in the spatial distribution of the vortex isthe cycle of the Kuroshio northeast of Taiwans swing and the combinedeffect of bottom topography results; Kuroshio through Jilong Valley,Cotton Valley and North Cotton Valley determines the positon of thecyclonic vortex; the Kuroshio branches turned east to the formation ofanticyclonic vortex.(6) This paper contrast with typhoon data: summer and autumnhave no significant changes in the spatial distribution of vortex causedby tropical cyclones random appeared. Compared with the surfacesea temperature data found: the vortex distribution patterns similar withwinter when sea surface temperature lower in spring and autumn,when surface temperature higher similar with summer.(7) Cyclonic eddies and anticyclonic eddies position have similarchange emotion: which can be better inverse the Kuroshio surfaceswing through study of vortex variation.
