In this paper, the principle of PEEC (partial element equivalent circuit)——an efficient algorithm is introduced to solve the modeling of three-dimensional multi-conductor systems method in detail. The PEEC algorithm is based on the conversion of the Mixed Potential Integral Equation (MPIE) to the circuit domain. By using a specialized discretization, the original structure is converted to a circuit network of discrete resistors、capacitors and inductors, called the partial elements. The partial elements are calculated by using numerical techniques and resultant equivalent circuit can then be solved with a conventional circuit solver.First, the technology background and development of PEEC method are briefly introduced.Secondly, in this paper, the traditional PEEC algorithm is simply introduced, and based on the Matlab programming PEEC method is used to calculate a sheet metal of the scattering coefficient. Finally, the traditional PEEC algorithms are applied to periodic structure modeling. After theoretical derivation, we calculated the scattering coefficient of a FSS structure with the aid of Matlab programming. In the paper, based on the circuit network, sheet metal and some periodic structures are analyzed on Matlab platform. The calculated results of sheet metal are reasonable. And the preliminary results of the periodic structure provide a theoretical reference for the application of the PEEC method in the modeling of periodic structures.
