Efficient and accurate analysis of the electromagnetic scattering problems has been an important issue in the computational electromagnetics, for the electrically large and complex3D targets, and has a very considerable significance in the military and civilian aspects. But limited by computer resources and a great amount of computation, accurately modeling and non-uniform subdivision is necessary, which can fully use computer resources and have also become critical in analyzing and solving electromagnetics problems. The method of moments (MoM) based on the integral equation has high accuracy, and also can conveniently fit complex structure. Therefore, the MoM becomes a calculated method widely used in the computational electromagnetics. This thesis firstly introduce the principle and pivotal technology of MoM, and then starts from the selected basis functions, the curved basis function and the higher order hierarchical basis functions, which has been specially treated and leads to the method of mixing electromagnetic modeling, called the method of mixing high-low order basis functions specifically in this thesis. The proposed technique further improves the utilization of computer resources. Secondly, the thesis has a detailed analysis of the relationship between the ideal conductor suface current and incident, introduces the asymptotic phase factor into the method of mixing high-low order basis functions, called asymptotic phase mixing high-low order basis function. The new set of basis functions has higher computational efficiency when applied in electromagnetic scattering analysis of the electrically large ideal conductor target. The electromagnetic scattering problems of the composite conducting and dielectric objects have been analyzed, using the same method. And for such electrically large targets, multiple processes will deal with the problem together by parallel processing, which greatly enhance the efficiency of the analysis of electrically large targets and has a strong practical significance. Finally, because of the complex structures are difficult to accurately calculate, we put forward the idea of adaptive methods to slove such problem, and they are adaptive p-refinement method and adaptive h-refinement method, respectively. For these two algorithms, error estimator is the most important parameter. If the split elements do not meet the error, further processing is needed. Adaptive p-refinement requires an increasing in basis function order, and adaptive h-refinement needs the subdivision of coarse discretization.
