CO2is not only the main factor of the global warming, but it also a cheaper and useful C1resource. For the needs of both environmental protection and energy sources, the control and the utilization of carbon dioxide have become very important. Herein, the dispersion of propylene oxide (PO) and hexafluoropropylene oxide (HFPO) in CO2was studied based on the high-pressure Attenuated Total Reflectance FTIR (ATR-FTIR) in-situ monitoring system, and the copolymerization of PO or HFPO and CO2using zinc glutarate (ZnGA) catalyst was investigated.1. The ZnGA catalyst was prepared and characterized by FT-IR and XRD, and it was determined to have a relatively high crystallinity. Alternating polycarbonate was successfully synthesized from CO2and PO in the presence of ZnGA catalyst, and the polycarbonates have high molecular weight (Mn=79241) obtained via GPC results.2. The anionic ring-opening polymerization of hexafluoropropylene oxide using the KF/diglyme (tetraglyme) catalyt was investigated and an acyl fluoride containing poly(HFPO) was obtained. The perfluorinated acyl fluoride undergo decarbonylation with antimony pentafluoride to produce the corresponding products in which the acyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom. And polymers which chain ends were also derived into methyl/trifluoroethyl esters by using methanol and trifluoroethanol.3. The copolymerization of HFPO and CO2was carried out to afford perfluoro-poly (propylene carbonate) using the KF/DG (TG) catalyst systems, and then the PO was introduced to the HFPO-PO-CO2ternary polymerization to obtain fluorinated polycarbonate.
