With the rapid development of China’s economy, environment and water pollution become more and more serious. The sewage purification become an important problem to be resolved. Cationic polyacrylamide flocculant used widely and its flocculation performance is good with small dosage, so it become the research focus in water treatment.This paper aims to synthesis cationic monomer in laboratory and then synthesis cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) flocculant with AM by solution copolymerization, determine the best synthetic process conditions, and study the wastewater flocculation properties of CPAM by treating the simulation kaolin wastewater.This thesis mainly engaged in the following four aspects:(1) synthesis cationic monomer2-acrylamide and three methyl ethyl ammonium chloride and represent it;(2) Use NaHSO3/NH4S2O8as initiator system, synthetic CPAM with AM and cationic monomer by solution polymerization;(3) using infrared spectrometer, uv spectrophotometer and hot heavy/differential thermal analyzer, scanning electron microscopy eds, characterise PAM, CPAM synthesised in laboratory (4)treat simulation kaolin wastewater with CPAM to find the flocculation effect.The results show that:(1)the optimum term to synthesis cationic2-acrylamide and three methyl ethyl ammonium chloride monomer is mAM/mccc for2:1, pH7.0, for temperature should be, reaction6hours at55℃.production rate is the highest;(2) the optimum conditions for synthesising CPAM is:temperature should be at60℃, reaction system pH8.0, the guality ratio of NaHSO3/NH4S2O8is0.022g/0.062g, the guality ratio of AM and cationic monomer is1:3, the reaction time is5hours, the cationic degrees and characteristic viscosity of CPAM is19.2%and8.7mPa. S.(3) the infrared spectrogram, electron spectrogram, TG/DTA,SEM shows great difference in molecular functional group, thermal stability, elements and surface morphology of onlookers between PAM and CPAM, sure cationic polymerization into groups.UV spectrophotometer measured that the content of residual AM in CPAM is0.036%;(4)Flocculation experiment show the flocculation effect of CPAM js better than PAM, the optimal dosing quantity for8-10mg·L-1or so, the best flocculation pH range for7~8, the turbidity removal rate of kaolin simulation wastewater is92.7%, CPAM and PAC used together shows the optimal flocculation effect, its best flocculation process for:The dosing of PAC and CPAM for3.5mg·L-1,6mg·L-1, pH value of water system for7, The removal rate of kaolin simulation turbidity water is96.2%to98,7%.This paper have the certain reference value in water treatment with cationic flocculant research and the settlement of sludge.
