With the rise in nickel price in recent years, a low-cost HNS stainless steel is increasingly popular with its good overall performance substituting Ni with N. Nitrogen can replace nickel in austenitic stainless, thus resulting in products which are:more environmentally benign through conserving resource;more economic due to the low cost of nitrogen;much more ductile than other steel of the same strength; more corrosion resistant. These advantages, taken together, will make high nitrogen austenitic stainless steel prime candidate material for the future sustained development and for products which last longer and can do more with less.High nitrogen austenitic stainless steel already exists as niche products and has been made on an industrial scale in various product forms. The high nitrogen steel with different nitrogen content were preparated by Pressurized induction melting, The materials which processed by coolling after hot rolling and solution heat treatment after rolling, were studied on microstructure, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, The tensile strength, yield strength, yield ratio is not significantly different by two kinds of processing,However, elongation and area reduction rates is improved after solution treatment,The solution-state samples is the austenite which was analysised by TEM electron, There are a lot austenite twins, dislocations and stacking fault in austenite structure, Carbide precipitates which were precipitated,by Crysta, and the grain boundary, Dislocation strengthening and precipitation of second phase result in the strength improvement of high nitrogen steel.
