| BackgroundStrokeã€cancer and cardiovascular disease are major causes of death in the modern society.The studies about syndrome in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) have become more and more perfect during many years.But the previous research focused on quantitative score through the scales more often,which can not avoid the influences of subjective factors of the researchers.Cluster analysis,which is a explorative and multivariate data analysis method,can enhance the scientific and objectiveness of the study about syndrome greatly.ObjectiveThis is a retrospective study about patient who has the first attack of acute ischemic stroke.The purpose is to investigate the distribution of syndrome in acute ischemic stroke by using cluster analysis.MethodsCollected the general informationã€past medical history and TCM diagnostic data of patients that were acute ischemic stroke.And then select the representative targets into cluster analysis.Results120patients were included in this study.The clustering results are as follows:â‘ Information of the acute ischemic stroke indicated that the variables could cluster into qi deficiency and phlegm-heat,wind and phlegm,phlegm-heat and blood stagnation,phlegm-heat blood stagnation.â‘¡Information of the young group indicated that the variables could cluster into qi deficiency and phlegm-heat,phlegm-heat and blood stagnation,extreme heat and wind, phlegm-heat, blood stagnation;information of the old group indicated that the variables could cluster into phlegm-heat and blood stagnation,qi deficiencyã€phlegm-heat and wind.â‘¢Information of the0risk factor indicated that the variables could cluster into qi deficiency〠blood stagnation and phlegm-heat,phlegm-heat and wind;information of the1risk factor indicated that the variables could cluster into qi deficiencyã€blood stagnation and phlegm-heat,phlegm-heat and blood stagnation;information of the2risk factors indicated that the variables could not cluster into typical syndromes;information of the≥3risk factors indicated that the variables could cluster into qi deficiency and phlegm-heat,phlegm-heat and blood stagnation.⊙Information of the hypertension indicated that the variables could cluster into qi deficiency〠phlegm-heat and wind,blood stagnation and phlegm-heat,or qi deficiencyã€phlegm-heat and wind,blood stagnation, phlegm-heat;information of the non-hypertension indicated that the variables could cluster into qi deficiency,qi deficiency and phlegm-heat,phlegm-heat,blood stagnation and phlegm-heat.⑤Information of the smokers and the non-smokers indicated that the variables could both cluster into qi deficiency and phlegm-heat,blood stagnation and phlegm-heat.â‘¥Information of the stroke in meridian indicated that the variables could cluster into qi deficiency,blood stagnation and phlegm-heat,heat,blood stagnation,phlegm-heat;information of the stroke in organs indicated that the variables could cluster into phlegm-heat,qi and yin deficiency,blood stagnationã€heat and wind,qi deficiency and phlegm. Conclusionsâ‘ The five syndromes in acute ischemic stroke contain evils like phlegmã€heatã€blood stagnation,which reflects that evil is the main manifestation in the acute ischemic stroke.â‘¡The symptoms of the young group contain more evils,while the old group show qi deficiency.It means that healthy qi grows deficient with aging.â‘¢The performance of qi deficiency become clean and dominant with the increase of risk factors.And combining with age,one conclusion that qi deficiency will be more and more significant with aging and increasing of risk factors can be speculated.â‘£The phlegm-heat symptoms in hypertension group are more obvious than that in non-hypertension,but we can not consider the relationship between hypertension and phlegm-heat.⑤The heat symptoms are more distinct in smokers than that in non-smokers,which manifest the toxic hot characteristic of tobacco.â‘¥The phlegm symptoms in stroke in organs are more notable than that in stroke in meridians,which points the importance of phlegm deceiveing qingqiao in stroke in organs. |
