Clinically, cough is one of the most common symptoms of patients in the Department of internal medicine, often is a clue to the presence of respiratory disease. In many instances, cough is an expected and accepted manifestation of disease, such as during an acute respiratory tract infection. Therefore, Post-infectious cough means during an acute respiratory tract infection, after the acute phase symptoms disappear, but the cough still does not recover. Instead infected of respiratory viruses, other pathogens such as bacteria, mycoplasma and chlamydia can cause post-infectious cough, among cough that caused by cold, can be called " Post-infectious cough ". Post-infectious cough is a common clinical etiology of sub-acute cough, accounted for as many as48%. Some Post-infectious Cough manifestation are irritating cough or cough with a few amounts of white mucous sputum, with throat itching, and often with talking, exercise in cold air stimulation can induce or aggravate, it is usually lasts for3-8weeks duration, or can be more than8weeks duration, with a normal chest examination and radiograph.Western medicine symptomatic treatments of Post-infectious Cough are anti-histamines, anti-cholinergic, glucocorticoid, and antibiotics. However the treatment of diseases in TCM has a unique syndrome differentiation system, such as viscera syndrome differentiation or "ZangFu BianZheng", syndrome differentiation of main and collateral body channels or "JingLuo BianZheng" the eight principal syndromes "BaGang BianZheng", syndrome differentiation of six body channels or "LiuJing BianZheng" etc. In TCM clinical treatment of cough, we only found a few research studies of cough from Six-meridian syndrome differentiation classification. By through this study, I hope to find some better solution treatment of cough and Post-infectious cough.In this study, in order to understand the characteristics of syndrome in patients with cough, and to further improve the diagnosis and treatment of Post-infectious cough. I use315cases of patient information, by analyzing and doing statistics of Post-infectious cough, classified and analyzed them by using Six-meridian syndrome differentiation.Research methods:Using the application of Microsoft Excel, and for Six-meridian syndrome differentiation symptoms classification are using the application of SPSS20, nonparametric test statistics of gender, age, course of disease, cough severity, cough characteristic, seasonal cough, treatment effect observation and elements links description between all syndrome differentiation of six channels.The research results and conclusion:the manifestation symptoms of Post-infectious cough are dry cough without sputum or few amounts of white mucous sputum, the cough severity is mild cough,and does not interfere with rest or work, by differentiate tickling pharynx as primary symptoms of cough. Post infectious cough in TCM.we say majority induced by wind, cold and heat elements, some peculiar smells, or the six elements exogenous pathogenic factors "WaiGan LiuYin". On the other hand, Post-infectious cough are also induced by the patient’s body-immune conditions or in feeble condition, then infected by exogenous pathogenic factor. Other causes, like patient does not having dietary food and an emotional mood disorder, etc. They can be the cause of this disease’s inducement. The changing weather of the four seasons in a year may be the pathogenesis of infection too. Post infectious cough in the course of the disease duration may be last over8weeks. Post infectious cough more often found in youth. Extern syndrome and mid-extern mid-intern syndrome is more common found in youth, as the age growing older we can found an intern syndrome. Post infectious cough can occur in all of the six body channels. Therefore the treatment of Post infectious cough can be diagnosed according The basis of Six-meridian syndrome differentiation. Post-infectious cough infects most of the "Shaoyang" cough disease. If the disease duration is short, it usually just affects one body channel, else if the disease duration is long, then usually it affects more than one body channel. In other words, post infection cough if the disease duration is longer, the state of illness can be more complex. Such as Yin and Yang disease cough with lot amounts of sputum typically can be found in dry cough. Post-infectious cough, Yin meridians disease cough is more severe than Yang meridians disease cough.Therefore, by using Six-meridian syndrome differentiation theory in treatment of Post-infectious cough is proven has a dominant advantage, by choosing the exact body channels with the syndrome and the exact treatment formula. The theory of syndromes differentiation of six body channels in Post-infectious cough treatment indeed has curative effect.
