Background:The dilemma of ordinary treatment to the elderly drug-resistant pneumonia provides a platform to highlight the advantages of the Chinese medicine in participating the research and treatment. But the syndrome distribution regularity of the elderly drug-resistant pneumonia which is caused by common drug-resistant has not reached consensus, it still needs further study. Objective:To grasp the regularity of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) syndrome evolution of the elderly drug-resistant pneumonia, and analyze the syndrome distribution regularity which caused the elderly drug-resistant pneumonia by four common types of resistant bacteria (Pseudomonas acruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus) in order to improve the ability of physicians in judging and treating the disease. Methods:To analyze four diagnostic data differentiation of212cases of four common pathogenic resistant bacteria (Pseudomonas acruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae), determine the types of TCM syndromes of the patients admitted to hospital in different time observation points and analyze the characters and rules of syndromes evolution in the duration of the disease. The clinical data include:(1) basic information of the patients;(2) clinical signs and symptoms, diagnosis process and final results;(3) relevant laboratory tests. To get the conclusions after summarize the above materials, and then check the conclusions if it was statistically.significant by statistical software. Results:The research collected133cases of Pseudomonas aeruginosa,47cases of Acinetobacter baumannii,23cases of Klebsiella pneumoniae,9cases of resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Among them, Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection takes a large proportion.200patients have chronic underlying diseases, For respiratory underlying disease, COPD, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and interstitial lung disease are the most common ones. In addition, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and diabetes are also common underlying diseases. Phlegm retention syndrome in the lung is the main TCM syndrome for early elderly drug-resistant pneumonia patients after been hospitalized, totally139cases. Qi Deficiency disease is the main syndrome type in the late stage, totally88cases. The TCM syndromes of the four types of drug-resistant infections make differences after been hospitalized for14days. The proportion of the patients whose treatment duration is longer than21days accounted for55.64%of the total133patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. It is the largest ratio among the four groups of patients. The Tongue Syndrome of the patients with four kinds of drug-resistant infections is always with dark red colour, thick yellow greasy moss. The pulse types of the patients are always taut pulse, slippery pulse, rapid pulse or veinlets, but there is no difference among the drug-resistant groups. The outcome of patients with different types of drug-resistant pneumonia is different after21days in hospital. Conclusion:The pathogens of the elderly drug-resistant pneumonia are mainly Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii Klebsiella pneumoniae and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus are four common pathogens for elderly drug-resistant pneumonia. Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection takes a larger proportion. Chronic underlying disease is one of the risk factors for suffering from elderly drug-resistant pneumonia. Phlegm retention syndrome in the lung is the main TCM syndrome for early elderly drug-resistant pneumonia patients after been hospitalized and Qi Deficiency disease is the main syndrome type in the late stage. The TCM syndromes of the four types of drug-resistant infections make differences after been hospitalized for14days. The14th day is a key node for the syndrome changes. The TCM syndrome changes of the elderly drug-resistant pneumonia have nothing to do with gender, age, tongue pulse and relate with the type of drug-resistant and changes of patient’s condition.
