Study The Rule Of The Yuan Dynasty In The West Of Guizhou Water Area

Shuixi is located in the northwest of the Guizhou Province, at the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. It is named because of locating in west of the Yachi River which is the upstream of the Wujiang River. Before the Yuan Dynasty, in Shuixi region the ethnic composition is relatively simple, mostly Yi. In Shuixi Yi belongs to the Moxi group, which is a branch system of the six groups ,and the rulers are An’s family. In the Yuan period, Shuixi apperrs on the map of central politics. Since then, the Yuan Dynasty launched the political rule in this region by sealing local officials and carrying out the implementation of the chieftain system. On the economic level, it operated in the way of the creation of post roads and the establishment of the ranch . In the late Yuan Dynasty, national power gradually declined. With the corruption of the ruling class, the shortcomings of rule prominented. Coupled with the strict policy of ethnic discrimination, in Shuixi people carried out the anti-Yuan fight, that extravagance Day uprising. After that, the relationship between the region and the central government became worse. After the uprising, the Yuan government made the rule into a more stable phase by promoting the local An’s officials.Full-text is divided into five parts:Introduction describes the origins, the significance of topics, the summary of the prior history of related research , the value and feasibility of this study.Chapter one owns two sections. The first is overview of the basic conditions of Shuixi region and the history. Second is dissertation in detail of the Yuan Dynasty’s ruling process in the Shuixi region, which can be divided into three stages, military siege , appeasing and sending troops.Chapter two analyzes the rule and management of the Yuan Dynasty in Shuixi. The writer considers that the political rule has three aspects, which are heavy station, setting the government offices and granting the local officials. And the economic management showed mainly in two aspects, the creation of the post road and the establishment of pasture. The article displays the society situation of Shuixi on two aspects , the national customs and the cultural and educational policy .Chapter three firstly discusses the historical backgrounds of the luxury Uprising Day, which are the strong military dictatorship and the harsh policy of ethnic discrimination. Then it analyzes the reasons for the luxury Uprising Day, which are the harsh extortion and the frequent requisition of the Yuan officials, and the main reason is that the extortion undermined exclusive economic rights from generation to generation of the chiefs of local Tuguan. Basing on a lot of historical data, the article comprehensively analyzes the circumstances of the luxury Uprising Day, and then explains its history impact.The article presents that the impact of the uprising, which includes three aspects, the first precedent of resisting the central government, the serious blow to the Yuan soldiers, and forcing the ruling class to adjust the rule of policy and strategy. At the last, it is a simple sort of the rule of the Yuan dynasty in Shuixi in the period of after the uprising to the end of the Yuan Dynasty.The conclusion is a brief summary of three parts, the Yuan Dynasty ruled the Shuixi region into the scope , the rule of the Yuan Dynasty in Shuixi, and the relationship between the Shuixi region and the central government.
