| This paper is composed of two parts:translation and critical commentary. The original text of translation part is excerpted from A Young Newcomer to Organization Department, a much renowned story by Wang Meng, a writer well-known at home and abroad. The critical commentary is focused on a discussion of the strategies in translating dialogues with phrases of Chinese political and cultural color, namely, the concepts and expressions specific of that age, as well as the idiomatic phrases in the dialogues of the story, trying to provide a new example for the translation of the political novel. |
