For the teaching of Chinese language to the Japanese students, Directional complement has been the key point and also the most difficult part.’“起来”(?)s the most difficult and important part of directional complement. Though the use of’“起来”in directional complement is in very high frequency.it is difficult for the Japanese students to learn because of the semantical difficulties and the confusing sentence. Structures.This study adopts questionnaire survey method, uses the objective multiple choice questions and subjective translation. The investigation concerns the Japanese students in Fudan international school and focuses on how they learn the original meaning and secondary meaning of“起来”in directional complement.This paper compared the expressions upon Chinese“起来”n Japanese and discusses the influence of the negative transfer of Japanese students.The study show that the common errors made by Japanese students when they learn’“起来”are the wrong sequence and the avoidence. By the influence of mother tongue, the mistakes of avoidence and miss generation are especially clear. For the word“起来”,(?)here are four kinds of meaning, the tendency of righteousness,starting righteousness, evaluation and focus on righteousness. For the four meaning of righteousness, Japanese students acquisition ease in order:the tendency of righteousness, start of righteousness, evaluation and focus on righteousness. For some specific words used in high frequency in the textbook, focus on righteousness is not very hard and is even easier to learn than the start of righteousness. In the study, on the basis of the intermediary language theory and errors analysis theory, the author further analyzes the teaching process and teaching materials and states effect of students’acguisition.This paper is divided into five parts. The first chapter expounds the cause of the topic, and from the perspective of ontology research and foreign Chinese research to study the summary and analysis of“起来”The second chapter illustrates the theoretical basis and research method; The third chapter analyzes the questionnaire data about the types of errors of the Japanese students. The fourth chapter analyzes the reason of errors;Chapter five puts forward relevant teaching advice; The last part gives the summary of the research, and points out the limitations of the study.
