Taking "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer ", "Roughing it", "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" and "Pudd’nhead Wilson " for example, this paper makes an analysis on the Ethnic Narrative Ethics of Mark Twain’s novels from the perspective of Narrative Ethics. This paper consists of five parts. The introduction mainly combs Mark Twain’s novel-writing as well as internal and external analyses on Mark Twain, explaining the significance of choosing this topic and the thinking of this paper, pointing out that the following text will launch the discussion in the respects of the content and the narrative techniques. The first chapter mainly discusses the Indian Ethnic Narrative Ethics of Mark Twain’s novels. Firstly, in the case of the content, Mark Twain vilifies the image of the Indians. Secondly, the particular plot, writing style and language of the novels manifest that Mark Twain is hostile to the Indians. The second chapter mainly discusses the Narrative Ethics on the black people of Mark Twain’s novels. Firstly, Mark Twain characterizes a humanized black image named Jim and lashes out at the most widespread perceptions of the racial discrimination in the story. Then Mark Twain strengthens his ethnic ethics perspective with the help of two narrative techniques. One is Paratextualite Intrusion, for example, "NOTICE" and "EXPLANATORY" of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" and "Pudd’nhead Wilson’s Calendar" of’’Pudd’nhead Wilson ". Another is Unreliable Narration, for example, the narration of Huckleberry in "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn".The third chapter mainly explores the Chinese Ethnic Narrative Ethics of Mark Twain’s novels. Firstly, the paper summarizes three negative images about the Chinese and the sympathy and admiration for the Chinese in "Roughing It. Then the paper analyses the Reliable Commentary and the style of writing in ""Roughing It"pointing out that Mark Twain also doesn’t break through "Orientalism" and models the Chinese as "The Other".The conclusion part summaries the entire articles and points out the complexity of Mark Twain’s Ethnic Perspective. We can’t simply define Mark Twain as"Post-colonialism" or"The fighter of opposition to racial discrimination". The key question is what useful references we can learn from Mark Twain’s Ethnic Perspective.
