| Any language in the world is not static. As a social phenomenon, Language and society is one community and they change together. In1964, the American scholar J.B.pride put forward the theory of Covariance, endeavors to analyze the covariance of language and society in his book named "sociolinguistics". as a special kind of social phenomenon, as the most important communication too, language has the absolute dependence on the society and also has contingency on Social development. In order to meet the needs of social communication, language needs constantly evolving and developing. With the change of language and society they influence interact and mutual restraint each other. Among this three elements, vocabulary is the most active and most sensitive elements. With the development of society, vocabulary are changing constantly. This change is mainly reflected in that a lot of newly-coined words have appeared.With the development of science, social progress, the application of new technologies, there appeared a lot of newly-coined word. There fore, the newly-coined words occupy an important position in the life of the Korean language, and also are the valuable materials on studying the modern Korean features.Generally, word is formed by the Korean word formation, so as the most of the new words are. But the recent new words has some new features. Therefore, firstly, this paper analyzes generation method and the characteristics of word formation. Secondly, examine the new trends on its application.The data adopted by this study was extracted from the survey on coined words executed by the National Academy of Korean Language from2002to2010.This study collected newly-coined words of Korean from2002to2010, and analysis characteristic of Korean from the angles of word class, the origin of a word and word formation. At last, this paper summarized new characteristics of newly-coined words in word formation.The thesis is composed of five chapters:Chapter Ⅰ, serve as an introduction, covering the research objects, purposes and methods. And it introduced the new research results as well as the status quo.Chapter Ⅱ, by the background of newly-coined words and vocabulary features, describing the concept of newly-coined words and distinguishing with other similar concepts.Chapter Ⅲ, by newly-coined words data collected, analysising the characteristics of the newly-coined words on speech, etymology, word formation pattern. Firstly, dividing into inherent word, Chinese character words, foreign words, mixed words under the new origin of the word and making a concrete analysis. Following, divided into simple words, derived words, compound words according to newly-coined words and making a concrete analysis.Chapter Ⅳ, By the classification and Induction newly-coined words from2002to2010, summarizing some of the new features of the newly-coined words on the word-building, and further to predict the trends of the Korean words on the part of speech, etymology, word formation pattern.Chapter Ⅴ is a conclusion, bringing the thesis to an end.There are a lot of researches on newly-coined words, but it is difficult to get the comprehensive understanding. This paper will study the status of newly-coined words from multi-angle part of speech, etymology, word formation methods. By a lot of new words data, to study the new word, provide comprehensive information for the study of newly-coined words. So far, analysis on the new features of newly-coined Word formation is not so much. This paper will analyze the new features of the newly-coined word formation, and then sum up the trend of newly-coined word formation, and provide a theoretical basis for the trend of development of the Korean word.From the view point of lexicology, by analysis of the newly-coined words’data, it is helpful to get the accurate meanings. Because the language contains the nation’s way of thinking and emotion, we can get the general understanding of its social developments in the field. Also, it will have the practical significance on the compilation and translation of the new dictionary. The article also provides a teaching program for Korean learners of second language teaching, and also has some practical significance.I hope the Korean learners can not only expand the vocabulary through the study of structural characteristics of new words, but also through these new words have a better understanding of Korea’s modern culture, from this article... |
