| Among the four Chinese language skills of listening, speaking, reading andwriting, it is writing that is the weakest point for overseas students. Writing strategiesrefer to the methods and plan applied in writing, as well as sensation they put andstate they are into writing. Sound writing strategies can effectively improve thewriting ability of overseas students.Chapter2gives a literature review for the research status about writing strategiesboth abroad and home. Based on writing teaching theories, the author classifies thestrategies into four strategies in different phases, i.e. preparation, drafting, revisingand feedback. From Chapter3, the author describes the questionnaire which subjectson overseas students in higher level. Then the author analyses the use of writingstrategies in the phases mentioned above, with the methodology which focuses onquestionnaire, supplemented by interview and homework. In addition, the authoranalyses the differences of use of strategies among phases by comparing the groupsdivided by marks, gender and motives respectively. In the last chapter, according tothe above research, with the focus on teaching of writing, the author proposes severaleffective strategies on teaching writing. |
