| Jia Zhangke, a sixth representative figure, has kept records of many stories about living conditions and mental world of pipsqueaks abundant and deserted by the society and world, using of real creation techniques. Introduced into China during the period of1980s, feminism was applied into every aspect of literary criticism. Based on the theory of feminism, this essay is to probe into the position and destiny of females and the equality relation between men and women. To begin with, analyzed the feature of the sixth directors, they all have a brand new idea. Represented by Jia Zhangke, they describe trivial matters of daily life, convey individual confusion of urban experience, stimulate directly the softest soul, the most difficult to reach, and explore individuals’ mental state. Although he didn’t specialize in feminism, Jia Zhangke expressed his concern about female problem in his movies. He attempted to reflect the unique experience of female life, probing into living condition, state and difficulties of females. Secondly, we can analyse women’s "other" position and image in Jia Zhangke’s film according to the lost of women’s self-awareness and their images in the eyes of men. What’s more, it also analyses that women gradually produce their self-awareness in the collision with men. So they realized their own embarrassing "other" status, and strike back correspondingly. However, this kind of self awareness is still not very strong, and they also have the thought of depending on man. Finally, it analyses that the women in the Jia Zhangke’s movie resist the situation in which they are living. These females’consciousness have been quite clear, who want to establish their own "subject" position and pursue an ideal existence. This paper tries to represent Chinese females’living conditions with the changes of history, their heart changes and their efforts which they made to change their position of "others" through researching and analysing the female images in Jia Zhangke’s movie. Then they can break the gender hierarchy of the established order, and don’t live for men and opposite them any longer, helping women establish a real and suitable subject status in a diverse world to achieve the ideal existence. |
