For many years,"crane"ã€"turtle" has always been representative of the longevity,"Shochiku studio "and "plum blossom", have been representative of the high character, which is the historical basis of Chinese traditional culture, bronze-mirror was called "Japan mirror" in Japan. The earliest bronze-mirror was spreaded into Japan by Chinese ancient people for friendly exchanges. After a long-time development, combined with the Japanese nation characteristics, bronze-mirror was called "Japan mirror" for its true sense."Japan mirror" decoration has many kinds,and also has varied appearances, Penglai emblazonry plays an important role of "Japan mirror" decoration. This article is focus on Penglai emblazonry research. Bronze-mirror decorative was changed from the communication of Chinese and Japanese, from the heritage of the traditional cultural. Through comparative analysis of "Japan mirror" and Chinese ancient bronze-mirror, from the image sort of similarities between the basic elements of decoration and mirror of the origin of Penglai, staging of development, to discover that "Penglai emblazonry" and "Chinese Ancient Bronze Mirrors" has close relationship:’Penglai emblazonry" was inherited "Chinese ancient bronze mirrors" and was also conveyed Chinese traditional cultural——Longevity culture,Which is the traces of the development of patterns and the internal soul of "Japan mirror" for "Penglai emblazonry"This article is divided into three chapters according to the origin and development of Penglai emblazonry of Japan Mirror. In the first chapter, we explore the origin of Penglai emblazonry. Bronze-mirrors played the role of link between China and Japan since ancient China. Especially in Tang and Song Dynasty, bronze-mirrors were sent into Japan continuously by Tang emissaries, Song emissaries and merchant ships, meanwhile, Traditional Chinese culture with Penglai emblazonry as its carrier rooted and inherited in Japan. We explore the genesis of Penglai emblazonry in large collection of ancient Chinese and Japanese, and define "Japan Mirror" and "Penglai emblazonry" in order to use these words possibly in this article. Penglai emblazonry is divided into two types with the clue of "Ju-ao" to study Japan Mirror emblazonry and the important position of Japan Mirror with Penglai emblazonry In the second chapter, we mainly investigate that the emblazonry differences are determined by bronze-mirrors’social functions in ancient society. Penglai emblazonry which stands for longevity appeared in bronze mirrors of Tang Dynasty and laid a foundation in bronze mirrors of Song Dynasty with the requirement of health and longevity idea. Specifically, we compare the similarities of Tang Penglai emblazonry mirror represented by Zhenzifeishuang Mirror and Song Penglai emblazonry mirror represented by Guihexianren Mirror with Japan Penglai emblazonry mirror based on plenty of plates, study the meaning of the decoration and deeply reveal the close relationship between mainstream ideology of Japan Penglai emblazonry mirror and Chinese traditional longevity culture. The third chapter focus on stages, development, evolution, decadency and disappearance of Japan Penglai emblazonry mirror. Local Japan Mirror kept on evolving in dynasties with Chinese culture’s penetration. During Ming and Qing Dynasty, Chinese bronze mirror declined slowly, at the same time, Japan Mirror obtained its own features without constrain, returned to China, lead to a large number of imitation and became the favor of Chinese market. After that, glass mirrors sprung up gradually with their advantages and lead that bronze mirrors quitted the stage of history because of their lacking of practical value and became exhibits in museum. |
