| Suffering is an important theme of literary creation, and also is the theme that Zhang Chengzhi loves to write. This article takes aesthetic value as the analytic entry point, trying to explore the aesthetic value in the suffering of Zhang Chengzhi’s writing from outside to inside in three steps, and meantime during the exploring, to re-understand the reference and thinking that Zhang Zhengzhi gives to the contemporary China.The first chapter summarizes three survival modes in Zhang Chengzhi’s writing. The first one is full compliance with the laws of nature, which is survive for survival; The second is to see through all things with open-minded views, but also actively to survive with living wisdom; The third is to suffer because of religious beliefs. Survival modes all point to survival, but they have different meanings and value orientations. The different survival modes reflected from Zhang Chengzhi’s early and late works are closely related to the writer’s way of searching for the spiritual home. Specifying the spiritual content at different stages in this process and analyzing its constituent elements are the important aspects to understand the existence of Zhang Chengzhi literary creation as a spiritual fact.The second chapter analyzes the unique aesthetic value of suffering described, and finds the reason of misreading from the narrative shortcomings and a variety of cultural collision. It also analyzes the poetry characteristics of the suffering narrative.The third chapter is a review and reflection of suffering narrative. It tries to depict the truth of the spirit image in Zhang Chengzhi’s works, in order to open out his ambition of China’s "Evocation" and also the determination and crankiness as an idealist; and to re-understand all that Zhang Chengzhi bringing to us in reflection. |
