This research chose dynamic faces as experimental materials to explore the relationship between the expression and gaze direction processing in the course of face changing,17graduate students were asked to administer the gender judgment task, in the meantime, functional magnetic resonance imaging technique was used to uncover the underlying neural mechanisms of expression and gaze direction. Results showed that different brain regions involved in the dynamic expression and gaze direction processing, but the bilateral anterior temporal lobes.left parahippocampal gyrus and right lingual gyrus were activated in both two processing. Repeated-measures ANOVA testing of2expression change (neutral to angry.neutral to fear)×2gaze direction change(look forward to subject.look away from subject) showed a significant interaction between expression and gaze direction in bilateral anterior temporal lobes. This finding surported shard procection in bilateral that the integration of the expression and gaze direction information may occur in the anterior temporal lobes. However, there’s being complexity in the processing of expression and gaze direction, which may be modulated by different neural networks.
