Painting is a kind of visual art, which has immanent connection with visual watch. For the painter, watching is the premise of painting, which has important function and significance. Watch in the art is different from ordinary watch:this article is not from the general visual definition understanding the way of viewing, but regard it as the process of visual perception and art, aesthetic judgment, the main art’s inner feelings, experiences, ideas under the way of artistic perception and expression. Therefore, how to solve the problems (see what see, how to see) become the primary problem of painting in the artistic creation and aesthetic activities. Watch is a new problem which is frequently asked in the academic circles, even nowadays the academe continue to expand the study on it from the postmodern philosophy angle. This paper use the comparative method to the fine arts, the Chinese landscape painting and the western landscape painting as an object to discuss the Chinese western painter way, different meaning, as well as two mutual exchange, influence, and fusion in modern.The article is divided into four parts:first, Chinese and Western painting and watch, tries to define the meaning and concept of viewing, Chinese landscape painting and Western classical landscape painting in the two type of viewing, and the performance in the art. In two, science view of the western landscape painting, part of the topics mainly discussed the Western painting in scientific way. This part discusses the philosophy and idea foundation, historical performance, the most important form of space and watch "perspective". In three, the soul view of Chinese painting, this part of Chinese landscape painting seminar to mind performance as the core of the way, the philosophy and concept of the meaning, historical development, and the landscape painting. Four, the relationship between Chinese and Western painting about the way of viewing. This part from two aspects discusses the concept and the relativity of existence from two aspects, and the mutual exchange and influence in modern.Chinese painting and the western landscape painting has significantly different in view mode by the influence of the Eastern and Western culture, leading to the "spiritual portrayal" and "objective representation" of the two face. Nowadays, along with the contact between Chinese and western frequently, Chinese and Western painting in the collision and mutual exchanges, learning from each other;the two shows integration and convergence in appearance in the way of viewing level. The purpose of this thesis is based on the differences and similarities between Chinese and Western painting way of study, help us to practice exploring the communication possibilities of two kinds of art possibilities more deeply in the oil painting creation practice.
