Liao Naixiong Music Education Thought Research

Liao Naixiong is an important music educator of contemporary China.His Education Concept rooted in Humanism and Romanticism. We can see the common of music education in theory and practice through him.One hand we based on the local culture, on the other hand we absorbed foreign resources.In terms of external resources,he focused on translating Orff and Kodak’s system.But he linked the history of Chinese music education and phenomenon closely in stead of copy the original.So he described more Chinese characteristic of thought and national emotions,which the integration of modern nation-state process is inseparable for more than one hundred years.His quest reflected on the construction of teaching book."The Chinese Book of School Music Teaching’,which he followed the "Orff’s Book of School Music Teaching’. It was thecombination of Orffs concept and Chinese materials. This attempt and his theory together were the value of the experimental and pioneering.Naixiong Liao and his music education philosophy as a history of music education in our country can not be ignored. Analysis and interpretation on him can cause us to consider problems of music education.
