It is an international practice of posting diplomats and setting up premises ofdiplomatic missions to other countries. The relevant provisions were also made inVienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and United Nations documents. DifferentGovernments implement different policies on managing the premises due to thedisparities in national conditions. The scale, location and safeness of premises andresidence for diplomats are not only related to national strength, but also work as anembodiment of receiving country’s diplomatic policy and both countries’ relations.As the world largest developing country, Chinese government always pays highattention to the relationships with other developing countries. Alongside with thegrowing comprehensive national strength, China’s policy towards other developingcountries has kept further adjusting and improving. The thesis, based on statistic, casestudy, and comparative analysis, tries to explore the management policy of diplomaticzone in Beijing, and to reveal the present condition, disparities and futuredevelopment regarding premises and residence for diplomats.This thesis believes that national situation and diplomatic policy work as importantfactors when Chinese government implements the management policy towardsdiplomatic zone. With the development of economy and growing influence oninternational society, China’s management policy towards diplomatic zone shouldadjusted accordingly. The relevant organ, which carrying out management policy, onthe premise that support China’s diplomacy, should provide convenience for theconstruction of premises and ensure its safeness, thus receiving mutual benefit in bothpolitical and economic relations. Alongside with the changes of management policy,the relationship with developing countries has detoured, however, the goal of policymaking and changing always sticks to offer better services for diplomatic missions, soas to constantly promoting friendly relationships between China and other developing countries.
