The Plight Of China's Social Transition System And Reform

As one of the political systems with Chinese characteristics in the process of nation-building in China, letters and visits plays a very important role in maintaining national stability, promoting the democratization of the country as well as the development of the legal system, it is the most important ways for people to be involved in politics, express concerns, exercise their democratic rights, and protect their own legitimate rights and interests according to law; Construction and development of the letters and visits system has a long history and social foundation. The purposes of the letters and visits system is providing a way for people to express their wishes and demands, tie its people with the Party and Country, resolve disputes for the masses, and play an important role in China’s national development as well.Society is now in full transitional period, however, the existing system in the presence of numerous contradictions and too many expectations has been showing its own drawbacks and not suited to the current social development, letters and visits system reform is imminent, no matter what reforms, it cannot be divorced from the current period of social transformation of specific characteristics, regardless of the specific characteristics of the transition, political democratization as well as regulating by law is the ultimate outlet of the system reform. Based on current situation of the letters and visits system in the social transition, this paper argues that the basic theory and characteristics of the letters and visits system should be analyzed first, and then analyses the problems of the system and its reasons.Finally concrete reform measures should be put forward in the specific context of social transition. Letters and visits system reform is not easy, but a long-term, systematic advices.
