In recent years, the intersectant research areas become broader and broader as Investigation is integreted with other disciplines. Investigation Management is a combinative product of Investigation study and Management study, which is a interdisciplinaryresearch. However, scholars who are proficient both on Investigation and Managementare few either in domestic or at abroad. Consequently, achievements on theories of Investigation Management have been lacking. Therefore, it is necessary to apply theories of Management to studies on Investigation and further studies on Investigation Management.This thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is about clarification on definition of Investigation and Management. On the basis of author’s related knowledge, the concept of Investigation Management is generalized. Principles of Investigation Management are proposed by clarifying functions and meanings of Investigation Management. The second part is a brief introduction of paths for realizing Investigation Management, which are realized by six functions of Investigation Management: function of investigating decision, function of investigating plan, function of investigating organization,function of investigating leadership, function of investigating coordination and function of investigating control. The six functions are progressively related and complementary, forming a closed circulation system. The third part is to evaluate effects of Investigation Management from the perspective of law, economics and sociology. In the aspect of law, evaluating justice of investigation procedure and validity of the act of investigation will help public security organ investigate legally, thus, lessens possibilities oftorture and forced confession. In terms of economics, the present thesis mainly illustrates three angles: reducing cost of investigation, improving performance of investigation and maximizing effects of investigation. From the perspective of sociology, it illustrates that fast and accurate investigating cases will be a very effective deterrent for criminals, therefore, reduces incidence of cases, stabilizes public order and building harmonious society. The fourth part points Investigation Management to a scientific way byanalyzing trends of development of the present world and researching on science andtechnology as well as culture.
