Since the reform and open policy being pursued by the government, the economyof China has achieved a great success. However, the asymmetric development amongareas also leads to a huge gap between the rich and the poor. Particularly, it is muchmore challengeable to settle this problem in rural areas for the huge amount of poorpopulations. Moreover, in Ethnic minority areas, the magnitude and the chance ofpoverty are amplified severely due to restrictions of history, culture and natureconditions. In addition, the trend of centralization of poverty in ethnic minority areasis appeared gradually. Specifically, the huge number of poverty populations, the poorsettled in adverse living conditions, severe poverty-returning phenomenon, and lowefficiency of antipoverty become the most difficulties faced by the poverty alleviationin ethnic minority areas which show the importance and necessity of seeking theresolutions towards this issue. As to the methodology, first, this paper will focus onthe analysis of macro and micro elements which affect the antipoverty based on thedata of Enshi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture. Then will employ Logisticmodel to figure out the key and significant factor of antipoverty. Third, the summaryand comparisons of the current patterns of antipoverty in Enshi Tujia and Miaoautonomous prefecture will be given to analyze the benefits, drawbacks andapplicable conditions of each patterns. Finally, the author will give researchconclusions and policy proposals of poverty alleviation in Ethnic Minority RuralAreas.
