The Influence To Athletic Tae Kwon Do Techniques Application Of New Rules And PSS

In order to exist and develop, Tae Kwon Do needs new rules and PSS. After a modification and perfection, Tae Kwon Do contest makes an improvement from Budo event to sports items. From 2008, gradually, new rules and PSS are applied in various scale events and this measure has been confirmed by athletes, coach and referees. Since it is a short time to use new rules and PSS, and there is little research on the influence to Tae Kwon Do caused by new rules and PSS so that a serious study will help our county’s Tae Kwon Do develop well. This paper is to study the affects upon Tae Kwon Do contest skills of new rules and PSS, so as to grasp a clear Tae Kwon Do develop trend. When we study the affects to athletic Tae Kwon Do, we can adjust to the changes brought by new rules and PSS better and it is significant to promote athletes’techniques and tactics, as well as contest results.This paper applies the following methods: literature search, video analysis, interview, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and so on. On the conditions of new rules and PSS, starting from athlete feedback and the affects to techniques, the author surveys 30 athletes from sports school, Shenyang Institute of Physical Education, who take part in domestic events. It compares 50 Xinjiang Tae Kwon Do World Cup contests (happened in 2010, using new rules and PSS) and 48 2008 Beijing Olympic contests (using the usual protective equipment; final, semi-final and 1/8 champion and runner-up contests in every rank). The results show: Firstly, in the use of new rules and PSS, the contest becomes more and more fare, and to some degree, it solves the problem of referee controversy. Secondly, in the contests which new rules and PSS is used, there is no obvious change in technique application. Cross-kicking remains the main score-getting technique; Rising Kick and Push Kick scoring rate are up dramatically. Thirdly, after the use of new rules and PSS, the athletes reinforce their trunk defend ability and use more double hit. Their head-striking techniques zeal increases. Fourthly, in the fourth round which new rules and PSS are used, the awareness of active attacking and head-striking victory is strengthened. There is also increase in the kinds of victory techniques while Cross-kicking position is weakened.
