The Chinese traditional sports culture is part of the culture of the Chinese nationwith strong entertainment and nationality. With the rapid development of the universitysports undertakings in China, PE curriculum content in universities has been improvedconstantly. Under the promotion of the college sports cause, traditional sports havebeen a considerable degree of protection and inheritance.Particularly, some national institutions have opened the teaching content of theNational Traditional Sports, which made great contributions to national culture, tonational unity, and to the harmonious development of society，August6,2002, theMinistry of Education issued the "University and College Physical Education TeachingGuidelines to. It further defined the importance of traditional national sports in physicaleducation teaching. It is Immeasurable and alternative social and cultural values thattraditional sports items have that make it worth thinking how to exploit the culturalresources in traditional national sports and to introduce some traditional sports items touniversity PE curriculum teaching properly.In this essay, the methods I used in the research are questionnaire and interview.Central South Institute for Nationalities Analysis of the situation of the Central SouthUniversity for Nationalities in sports teaching course content, facilities, teaching mode,teaching methods, and then combined with the relevant literature, the use ofmathematical statistical methods, analysis of additional physical education teaching ofthe National Institutes of traditional ethnic sports content. conducive to the nationaltradition of outstanding sports culture heritage, to stimulate students ’patriotism;conducive to enrich the PE curriculum content, and increase students’ interest; to playto their advantage, the formation of the national Academy of Physical characteristics;help students master the skills lay the foundation for lifelong physical an important role.Through a comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of moderncompetitive sports with the traditional national sport as a physical education curriculumcontent, I pointed out that modern competitive sports to the students of their less wellunderstood, space and equipment demanding heavy financial burden elective time is fixed, the students choice of small drawbacks; compared with the national traditionalsports with an easy teaching, not subject to restrictions on student basis, requiring asimple site, easy to expand the teaching and learning activities, time flexibility, easy toform a physical exercise habits lifelong sports consciousness, etcsuitable for additionalin Physical Education Teaching. National institutions than the emphasis on moderncompetitive sports to the neglect of the traditional sports, less traditional national sportselective course content, degree of specialization of teachers is not enough, materialschoice, the lack of school-based teaching materials, and then the national institutionsshould be made clear teaching ideology, strengthen national awareness of traditionalsports, to increase the elective course content, teacher training, the introduction ofprofessionals; prepared according to the actual situation of school-based teachingmaterials and other means to develop students’ lifelong awareness.The creative feature of this essay lies in the focus on the ethnical sports teaching.the significance of this research is that it further promotes the improvement anddevelopment of the ethnic sport course on theory and to do something for the practiceof the PE education in national institutions in reality, through the specific investigationof the practical problems, this research may make offer some help for the PE coursecontent addition of Central South Institute for Nationalities Meanwhile, it provides anincrease of empirical material support for the reform and development in the NationalInstitutes of sports, getting a workable improvement program In addition, I also hope todo my own little humble to promote the traditional national sports culture, and improvethe nation Curriculums.
