The Study Of The Core Competitiveness Of The National Universities

In the broader context of globalization and knowledge economy and with the nationalcompetition being increasingly intense, the universities from all around world try their best toenhance the core element of the sustainable development-the core competitiveness. Theenhancement of core competitiveness should rely on the educational philosophy for thedevelopment of universities, the construction of distinctive disciplines, a strong teaching staff,and reasonable management system, which are gradually accumulated. Once formed willaffect all aspects of the school. Only to actively enhance the university’s core competitivenessin order to respond to the challenges posed by intense competition among universities.National universities is an important part of our universities, but because of the disadvantagesof the relative special educational philosophy and the lack of a strong teaching staff, the corecompetitiveness of national universities is more difficult compared to the general colleges anduniversities. With the strong economic development of the western region, national institutionas the principal part of national higher education has an important position that otherinstitutions can not be replaced, burdened with the heavy historical responsibility for thewestern region to train more high-level construction personnel, therefore there is need forfurther studies the core competitiveness of China’s minority areas.The thesis inquires about the course of development and major achievements of thenational higher education, and analyzes characteristics and competitive advantages of ournational colleges and universities by arranging and researching literature of the corecompetitiveness and core competence of university. Accordingly it puts forward theconstituent elements of the core competitiveness of our national universities and innovativeapproaches and analyzes by combining with a typical case of South-Central University forNationalities. Through research, the following conclusions:1. The core competitiveness of national universities have four individual elements: schoolcharacteristics, teachers, management ability, innovation ability.2. Undoubtedly, nationalism is a feature and competitive advantage of a national university,and also a fundamental characteristic of national universities which distinguishes themselvesfrom other colleges and universities. 3. Reasonable structure, high-quality teachers is an important part of the core competitivenessof our national universities.4. The management capability and innovation capability of national college senior managersis a source of the core competitiveness of national universities, which has a significantpositive effect on sustainable competitive advantage of our national universities.Finally, on the basis of the above conclusions of the study, the article puts forwardinnovative ideas of the core competitiveness of our national universities.
