The modern society is a society of information, in which the science and technology develop at a high speed. People need to know the knowledge of our society. To become strong through science and education is a basic national policy, and science education is of great significance in cultivation of innovative talents. Science popularization shows depend mainly on Science and Technology Museums. These Museums are becoming increasingly important as the base of science popularization. More and more Technology Museums being build, so the quality of Science popularization gets more focus now. Whether a Technology Museum can archive its objective or not, depends greatly on the Science popularization design. A successful Science popularization, can not only attract plenty of visitors, but also can enlighten the human mind and stimulate new wisdom.This paper first studies the current status of domestic and foreign science popularization show, analysis of the existing problems, then proposes that we should use the instructional design philosophy in our work to design exhibition items. The paper also provides an analysis of Instructional design theory, constructivist learning theory, interactive design theory and user experience theory. What’s more, it points out how these theories can guide Science popularization design. After a number of literature, theoretical analysis and interviews, the paper gives a detailed summary of design patterns. According to the actual work experience, it proposes a set of Science popularization design Procedures under the guidance of Instructional design theory. Finally the paper gives two real cases, also the application of this theory in a science popularization show to confirm the arguments put forward.
