To cultivate the high-level talents with the ability of strong scientificresearch and academic literacy has always been a kind of unremitting pursuit inmany countries developing graduate education. Studying the innovation of thetraining model of academic graduates systematically has significant meaning tothe promotion of graduate training mechanism’s reform, the improvement ofacademic graduate training quality, and the revealing of the specialdisciplinarian of academic type graduate student training.This paper uses Guangxi area characteristics as the study background,using the case of ethnology in Guangxi universities for nationalities as the studyobject, using the methods of historical research, comparison research and fieldwork research, through the method of “seeing big from small”, exploring theproblem of innovation of the training model of academic graduates in Guangxi.This paper’s main part describes the cause of selection of the typical andmeaningful case and historical transformation on its subordinate organization.Further more, this paper discusses the development and status of ethnologydegree and graduate education, the establishment of discipline’s platform forethnology graduate student training, the relations between the characteristics ofethnology scientific research and the formation of graduate student’s “scientificresearch disposition”, the cultivation of ethnology graduates’ systemic academicliteracy and so on. Through the study and discussion, we can come to theconclusion that the way of innovation of the training model of academic graduates in Guangxi can be followed as: adhere to the concept of “relying eachother, promoting each other, and developing mutually” between the disciplineconstruction and graduate education; establish the platform for the academicgraduate students’ growth and amounting to something positively, such asdissertations, field work, and through these platforms, foster the graduatestudent’s academic literacy including theory and method, grasping the frontier,inquiring problems independently and so on. Finally, we believe that thistraining model with innovation significance for academic graduate in Guangxican cultivate many high-level teaching and researching talents to meet the needsof minority areas, even the Southeast Asian in the teaching or scientific researchfiled of society, economy, culture, education, arts, etc.
