Complex sentence is used very widely in Chinese sentences. It is composed of more than two sentences together. What level does the primary and secondary school students reached about complex sentence comprehension?The study chooses the life of commonly used to condition, progressive and causal complex sentences examined three types of sentences in normal reading condition, different grade students on causal, progressive condition, three types of complex sentence comprehension development characteristics, at the same time, also to examine the language level of achievement and gender on causal, conditions, progressive three types the development characteristics of the complex sentence comprehension.This experiment from the Tianjin city primary school and middle school in a randomly selected students as subjects, including:60students of four grade in primary school,27boys,33girls;60students of five grade in primary school,24boys,36girls;60students of seven grade,30boys,30girls;60students of eight grade,20boys,40girls.Using the self-made sentences as experimental materials, wherein, conditions, progressive and causal three types of complex sentence every45sentences. Using the integral measurement method, it can collect data information. Subsequently, using Microsoft Excel for the initial analysis, finally using the SPSS13.0for Windows data for statistical processing, all data were repeated measures analysis of variance.The conclusions are as follows:(1) Students to three types of sentence of the understanding level from high to low for the progressive complex sentences, causal complex sentences and conditions complex sentences.(2) With the increase of age, the students on the three kinds of sentence comprehension also increases.(3) Students to three types of complex sentence comprehension from the impact of gender.
