At present, our country is in the stage that science and technology have been continuously improved, economy and society have been continuously developed, the population birth rate has gradually decreased, the urbanization has been rapidly developed. At the same time, the elementary education has been developed ceaselessly with the change of the above situation, township secondary schools education appeared the phenomenon of the reduced number of students, the declined ratio between students and teachers.According to the above changes, the author assumed boldly the possibilities of starting the small class teaching in the township secondary schools and analyzed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of starting the small class teaching in the township secondary schools objectly and comperhensively with reference to the related research at home and abroad.This paper analyzed the strengths of starting the small class teaching from the the four aspects---the related data of township secondary schools, the teacher’s work and way of life, students’ learning and life style, the relationship between family and school; it elaborated the weaknesses of starting the small class teaching from the three aspects---the funds, hardware, faculty; it pointed out the opportunities of starting the small class teaching from the two aspects---the relevant policy environment and the supportive factors;it dissected the threats of starting the small class teaching from the four aspects---how to avoid a class to be put in the wrong place, how to make up the relative insufficiency of hardware, how to plan the usage of funds reasonably, how to establish the evaluation mechanism. Finally, it listed and genaralized the conclusion based on the analysis results.The author combined the factual situation of township secondary shools in Yanping District, Nanping City and explored the ways of improving the educational status in township secondary shool from the relatively special perspective of township secondary shools to get a certain constructive conclusion which can offer the theoretical or practical references to the relevant personnel.
