With the development of virtual reality technology, the application of virtual reality technology in teaching is increasingly favored in the related research institutions, universities and educators.Based on the teaching designs of constructivism theory and autonomous learning, and combing the characteristics and presence of the information technology courses, the study introduces virtual reality technology to the information technology courses in primary schools and middle schools. The study analyzes the existing teaching design deficiencies and limitations, and then designs an application platform having immersion and interaction of multimedia Web course of information technology.Led by teachers but focusing on students, the platform uses Double Main Mode and makes use of the form of a virtual learning salon, which includes three modules:a virtual laboratory, a virtual learning community and a virtual reading room. Aimed at improving the ability of students’information analysis and the ability of constructing knowledge, the study creates various situations, takes advantage of a range of teaching resources, and recreates teachers’role and evaluation methods. With the aid of this platform, students break the limitations of the traditional classroom teaching time and space. Instead, they can arrange their own learning methods and contents to carry out their own learning freely, autonomously, and cooperatively, according to their actual needs.Having applied two teaching cases under running this platform in middle school information courses and analyzed the data and results, the writer can draw the following conclusions safely:The design of combining virtual reality technology with the middle school information technology course teaching is practical, which can improve students’learning interests, participation and attention degrees, can foster students’ability of awareness of autonomous learning and cooperative learning, and can also raise student’s explorative and creative spirits. Therefore, applying the virtual reality technology to the technology curriculum in primary and middle schools has a great application prospect and practical significance.
