The culture influences us a lot without being noticed. Every member of anation is influenced by the traditional culture widely and deeply no matter inhabits or thinking styles. As an important part of human culture, the sportsactivities are essential ways for us to express our emotions and feelings. Foot ball, which is considered as the most capable activity to achieve this goal, is called themost important sport in the world. We usually divide football into three levelsaccording to our general rules, which are administration in material, in regulationsand the best, administration in culture. When people have devote a huge sum ofmoney to their football teams, which is relatively the easiest option, but gainednothing, I believe, they should think of it for twice and analyze where the reasonlies.Korean football achieved their best record in2002after being in oblivion for30years, which is also the best record for Asian football. On the contrary, Chinesefootball is on its way to failing. Regardless of the differences in skills, physicalability, coordination on tactics and the administration in competition, however, from the aspect of culture, it is due to the difference in two countries’ footballculture.By referring to a lot of books and articles and using method of comparativeanalysis, logical education and Delphi technique in particular, this paper comparesthe different attitudes of China and the South Korea towards Confucianism on thebasis of the two countries’ thinking style commonness, and combine thecomparison of the two countries’ performance on the court, the behaviors of fansand the constructions of atmosphere of football, this paper has drawn followingconclusions.1China and the South Korea have had26matches from1978to2010, while China has won only one battle, from which we can see the twocountries made totally different choices on the road of development.2. The SouthKorea improved Confucianism according its development and national characters during2400years, and finally made it as its state religion. As a result, theinfluence of Confucianism on the South Korean is wide and deep.3. Due tohistorical reasons, western cultures impacted Korean culture in modern times andled to the confusion in the sense of worth in a certain period of time, but the SouthKorean took a series of measures to protect and develop its national culture.4. Thetraining system, the unity and enterprising spirit shown on the court by the SouthKorean football team represent the positive elements in Confucianism, whichmakes the South Korean into a country strong in football.5. Chinese traditionalculture was impacted greatly by western cultures especially after the reform andopen. There is a serious confusion in the sense of worth in China whichconsequently influences sports circle.6. Compared with the South Korean football,Chinese football doesn’t show the positive elements of our traditional culture; onthe contrary, it shows a lot of negative things, which becomes the obstacles on theroad of Chinese football development. In a word, we should learn from the South Korean football and combine theessence of our culture with football so as to build and develop our own footballcharacteristics; we should also abandon the route of pursuing skills only, butcombine structural reform of management and construction of football culture andtake actions to put the positive elements of our traditional culture into football soas to enable our football team show grittiness and unity on the court, and becomea team with the culture.
