Southern Jiangsu Rural Pension Problem Research Of Singleton Female Parents

China has carried out the family planning policy forty years, since the end of the1970’s.The group which carried out the policy earlier has stepped into the elderly ranks. This is a new problem for China. Meanwhile,because of China’s urban-rural dual social system, the pension issues is more serious in rural than that in urban, and more representative. The South Jiangsu is one of the districts which carried out the policy earlier. The author selected this area as her object of the study. By interviewing those who birth only one child in all their lives and have passed60years, the author intend to recognize their present situation and their demands in the future. Because they are at the beginning of their old lives.most of them have a good health. They can take care of themselves, so the problem of the care is not obvious. But lacking mental support is becoming the main contradiction. It will have an great impact on the elderly for a long time and it is very difficult to solve, especially for the empty-nest family and the single-parent families. Our government has the responsibility to help them by providing some policy and material support. It is more important for rural elderly who do not have regular income. Besides, family planning policy should be adjusted to resolve a range of social risk which caused by the substantial increase of only child number. The only child must balance the relationship between the family and their work and take care of their parents. The parents can increase their own wealth from their middle ages and change their old opinions. The neighbors should help each other.When someone has a trouble, others are ready to help him. The atmosphere is good for the elderly. Commercial insurance can also be taken as the supplement. Our society should take up the duty of supporting the elderly, such as setting up pension industry, use the capability of the communities and the volunteers, set up the mental institutions to help the elderly solve their mental problems, set up the platforms to help the elderly enrich their lives and so on. If all the force can be united, the problem of the only child must be solved very well.
