Developing Trend In Techniques And Tactics In Defending Of World Volleyball In21st Century And Its Enlightenment To Chinese Team

Each Ball Score System has been carried out for more than ten years. During this periodof time, achievements of Chinese men’s volleyball appeared competition situation of big riseand fall. At the Beijing Olympic Games in2008, Chinese men’s volleyball team achieved ahistoric breakthrough to enter the quarter-finals. In the other volleyball matches, it failed tomake the final eight.This situation illustrated that Chinese team has been far away behind thetop team. We need to find the cause of the problems so as to improve the Chinese team’sstandards.The research objects are the defensive tactics of the top eight teams in each worldwide race after implementing of the Each Ball Score System. This paper uses the method ofliterature studies and experts interview, analysis, technical statistics, mathematical statistics,induction and observation. After comparing the defensive tactics and the application ofdefensive tactics in each match of the top eight men’s volleyball teams in the world with theapplication and effects of defensive tactics of Chinese team, we can know the defence can bedivided into3categories. They are sidecover defense around a freeman, heart cover defensearound a freeman and heart cover with sector shape which match the trend of net play withflexible protection, aging, high degree of coordination, professional defence and theestablishment of defensive tactics which focus on free defenders. Although the advantage ofChinese men’s volleyball team is average height, the physical quality of players is notexcellent. The disadvantages show insufficient force, lack of experience and rate of defense.To sum up, we can get some enlightenment which is beneficial to the development of Chinesemen’s volleyball team, from the broad age, coordinating high standards of strength, balancingthe defensive tactics based on freemen as the core.
