The Research On The Communication Of Traditional Martial Arts In Technique Of Practical Fighting Magazine

In the1980s, with the reform and opening to the outside world, the public demand forculture was diverse; on such a big condition, periodicals, as a kind of important cultural media,became popular among the masses at that time. At the same time, as an opportunity ofShaolinsi hitting across the country, the traditional martial arts which represent the traditionalphysical culture started its boom. As the traditional martial arts and cultural craze rise together,the martial arts journal founded in great quantities, which not only became a particularphenomenon of boom, but also contributed to martial arts craze. Technique of PracticalFighting Magazine is a typical representative of the popular martial arts journal, in its nearly30years of running the process, which experienced successes and failures. But as a journalfocused on traditional martial arts, it has given considerable attention and in-depth anddetailed study on the spread to the traditional martial arts, which is beneficial to research onthe development of traditional martial arts since the1980s, and to study on the relationshipbetween the spread of traditional martial arts culture and its rise and decline. Thus it canprovide a unique perspective of case studies for our country periodical development.Theconclusions has been made through data analysis and theoretical arguments：（1） From1984to2012, Technique of Practical Fighting Magazine always adhered tothe spread of traditional martial arts culture and published a total of8125articles, including atotal of3748articles about the traditional martial arts, account for46.1%of the total numberof articles. The articles in the magazine about the traditional martial arts can be generallyclassified by the technique, skill, achievement method, training, culture character, etc, whichfocuses on techniques and technical articles. Technique of Practical Fighting Magazinemainly introduces some specific boxing from traditional grapple and traditional method, and pays much attention to Taiji, Xingyi and Yongchun.（2）As an own duty of spreading the traditional martial arts of the journal, in theprocess of the spread of traditional martial arts, Technique of Practical Fighting Magazine canbe roughly divided into three periods, namely form1984to1994, period of excavating thetraditional martial arts technology; from1995to2000,period of starting its career,Based onpractice; from2001to2012, period of a whole package to traditional martial arts culture. Thedifferent features of three periods are closely associated with the basic cognition andjudgment of the development of traditional martial arts, and are closely linked withcharacteristics of spread of different period of traditional martial arts culture.（3） During the propagation of nearly30years, traditional martial arts, as a majorjournal resource, has formed a special interactive and logical relationship with Technique ofPractical Fighting Magazine in synchronism, guidance, hysteresis and system. To be specific,Technique of Practical Fighting Magazine has demonstrated its synchronism, the mostimportant characteristic, in the propagation of traditional martial arts; the guidance ofTechnique of Practical Fighting Magazine in spreading traditional martial arts is the root for itto keep a dominant position in China during a fairly long period; the hesitation at crossroadsof Technique of Practical Fighting Magazine in the selection of overall cultural packaging hasreflected the slow response and after sensation of the magazine managers to the comingcultural era and it’s an effective way of seeking better self-improvement for Technique ofPractical Fighting Magazine to attach great importance to the overall cultural packaging oftraditional martial arts and traditional Chinese martial arts.
