The women’s volleyball games of the30th Olympic Games were held between the July28to August11,2012in the Earl’s Court Stadium of London. There were12teams participating, which were divided into two groups in the preliminary competition. Italy, Russia, Japan, England, Dominica and Algeria were Group A and the rest, China, America, Brazil. South Korea, Turkey and Serbia, were Group B. In the preliminary rounds, the Chinese women’s volleyball team broke out of the "group of death" and became the Top8; however, she was beaten by the old rival, the Japanese team, only tying for the fifth place in the end. The time of all the glories of the Chinese team have been past; it needs more expectations and studies on the question that whether this team can make a difference in the new circumstance, and re-build her former splendor. The present thesis aims at providing a certain theoretical support for the re-rising up of the Chinese women’s volleyball team. Based on the relevant statistics of the12teams in the30th Olympic Games and those in the27th,28th, and the29th, applying methods like the document-data method, the video observation, the method of comparative analysis and the mathematical statistics, the author of this thesis conducts an analysis on the elements of score-gaining and losing from the aspects of the technic and the one-technic.Through the analysis in this thesis, the result shows that the score-gaining and losing have some connections with the non-technical elements, such as age, height, weight and the capability of bouncing, but they are not the determinants:the capabilities of active attack, such as the capabilities of smashing, blocking, service, especially those of the attackers’, are the core to the victory of a game, which is also connected with the team’s comprehensive strength, defensive system and the special tactics. Through a thorough analysis, it is noticed that the Chinese non-technical elements have no big difference with other teams’, but the ability of bouncing is not as good as the western players who share the same level of physical qualities. With respect to the active attack, the ability of this team is weaker than that of the former teams, which indicates the insufficience of this young team in the aspect of score-gaining; especially when in front of the western competitive teams, the disadvantages in smashing and blocking are fully exposed. In addition, there are also problems in the realm of the improvement of the physical qualities, the reinforcement of the core players, the perfection of the defensive system, and the innovation of the techniques and tactics. In respond to those matters, some corresponding suggestions are offered in the present thesis, hoping to provide the team with some references and help for its future development.
