To adapt to the request of a new era, cultivate the students’inquiring ability and creative ability has become one of the important goals of the curriculum reform, scientific inquiry has become one of the important teaching methods proposed by the new curriculum reform. As a natural science based on experiments. Physics has an irreplaceable role to cultivate the students’scientific literacy and scientific inquiry capacity. In the high school physics curriculum standard, inquiry has been regarded as one of the basic ideas in physics education, inquiring teaching has been regarded as one of the important methods of physics teaching and learning, it requires physics teachers to make inquiry run through the practical teaching activities. Experiment is the main way of implementing inquiry teaching in high school physics Curriculum.As an important form of the high school physics experiment teaching, demonstrative experiments tend to use traditional teacher-oriented teaching methods, students is in a relatively passive situation. This does not accord with the teaching idea advocated by the new curriculum reform. It is necessary to improve teaching methods of high school physics demonstration experiment.This thesis based on the learning theory and inquiry instruction theory to discuss instructional theory of physics demonstration experiment; and based on questionnaire investigation for61high school physics teachers come from Chongqing in order to understand the present situation of high school physics demonstration experiment. On the basis of theory analysis and the status survey, This thesis propose teaching method of high school physics demonstration experiment teaching. Then the following results come from the three comprehensive studies.Firstly, the traditional physics demonstration experiment teaching value the teacher’s teaching in theory, emphasize demonstrate the experimental phenomena, require reasonable design, standard operation and phenomenon is clear, focus on students master Knowledge and experimental method. Secondly, putting the concept of inquiry into physics experiment teaching raises new teaching requirement and expands the functions of the physics experiment demonstration teaching. On the teaching requirements:physics demonstration experiment with the inquiry concept purpose on Cultivate the students’ scientific literacy, integrate the elements of scientific inquiry into the concrete teaching process, embody students’ entity. On teaching function:physics demonstration experiment with the inquiry concept can cultivate students’ exploring ability, innovation ability, scientific and rigorous scientific attitude.Thirdly, demonstrative experiment is the most commonly used experiment teaching form by high school teachers, and is the most commonly used for exploring regularity and leading in a new lesson. Most of high school physics teachers already had the certain understanding and thinking about putting the concept of inquiry into the physics experiment, they think students’scientific inquiry ability, observation ability, information handling capacity and so on can be developed by demonstrative experiment,and they begin to pay attention to students’inquiry ability, observation ability, thinking ability in physics demonstration experiment teaching. In specific classroom teaching implementation process, Most of high school physics teachers already integrated the elements of scientific inquiry into different components of demonstration experiment teaching, for example Raise question, conjecture and hypothesis, analyze experimental phenomena, but the opening level of scientific inquiry is not high; already gave students opportunities to take part in the demonstration experiments,but the degree of participation is not high and students’ autonomy is not strong. Teachers are much more concerned about experimental conclusions and experimental method when they evaluate the teachings effect.Fourthly, Selecting a reasonable experimental scheme is a key problem in demonstration teaching, teachers should analyze the main characteristics of content of courses, teaching procedure and students’ prior knowledge and experience to choose experiment scheme that suited to inquiry in preparing the experiment; and they should prepare experimental apparatus for classroom teaching in order to ensure success. All factors of scientific inquiry can be experienced by student in classroom experiment demonstration teaching, teachers can put the different factor of scientific inquiry into the different components of demonstration experiment teaching respectively.
