The learning of English should be a procedure of positive and independent thinking,investigation, communication and cooperation guided by teachers. Consequently, teachersshould design flexible learning task so as to lead students to learn the basis and principles ofknowledge. Teachers should encourage students to put them into practice and balance teamworking and independent thinking so as to help them develop these two abilities. The task ofCR is to utterly realize the contemporary theory of curriculum and education, which is basedon an overall balanced development of students. Students are expected to be engaged inexperiencing, investigating and cooperating in study and gradually shaped into elites in allkinds of directions.At present, there are many problems in our English teaching. It is often the case thatteachers give lessons in class, while students are just sitting there, listening without thinking,even their mind is wondering. This results in the low teaching efficiency and students are lackof ability of cooperation and solving problems. We need to establish a new method to teach,which keeps accordance with the way students learn. The method should follow three degreesof cognition:"Observation, Consideration and Application" so as to support inheritedknowledge. On the other hand, in the environment teachers created, this method needs toguide the behaviors of students in doing, watching, hearing, reading, talking, writing andthinking, which help fulfill the learning experience. It requires teachers to create learningatmosphere and realize the dominant role of students.Teachers should encourage students tothink independently,and participate class heart and soul. They should be ‘explorers’. Byexperiencing,students can master the knowledge,develop abilities and moral. Induced Thinking and Exploring Teaching (ITET) was created in the background the theory. As thename implies,"Induced", refers to the teacher’s leading role."Thinking" refers to students’independent thinking, fully embodies the dominant role."Inquiry" is the teaching process,pattern and method."Explore", is to observe something."Investigate", refers to the research,in order to inspire students’ positive thinking.This study is a case in two experimental classes of grade2in Baotou Northern HeavyIndustry Senior School. The writer wants to find out the answers to the following questions.What is the overall situation of ITET in the middle school? What are the advantages anddisadvantages in the implementation of ITET? What improving strategies can be used in ITET?Based on the problems mentioned above, the writer adopted literature method, classobservation method and interview method to complete this study. By retrieving informationrelated to this study, both at home and abroad, the writer analysed ITET and the relevanttheories. The writer found out some problems in teaching through investigation, analysis andthinking about the present situation of the current ITET. Finally the writer came up somestrategies to improve it.A lot of work has been done and great progress has been made. But some moreadvantages and disadvantages remain to be found. Besides, and more practical strategiesshould be put forward to make it perfect. In the future, if given another chance to make afurther study, the writer will make full use of time to read more books and make fullpreparations for it. The author hopes to get more results.
