Comparative Study On Assistant Second Passers’ Attacking And Defensive Form And Effect In The Match Between The Chinese Women’s Volleyball Team And The Opponents Over The30th Olympic Game

With the continuous development of volleyball sports, assistant second passer,known as an important position, plays a more and more important role in a volleyballteam’s performance and becomes very crucial for scoring. The level of the assistantsecond passer affects the performance of the whole team’s performance directly. Overthe30th Olympic Game, the highest level of all games, Chinese women’s volleyballteam did not play ideally. The team got into the quarter-finals with the second place inthe group table, but was defeated by the Japanese team over the quarter-final and onlygot tied for the fifth place. This research focused on the assistant second passers’attacking and defensive form and effect in the match between the Chinese women’svolleyball team and the opposite foreign teams over the London Olympic Game, andtried to find out the advantages and gaps of Chinese team through contrastive analysis,to raise reasonable and targeted suggstions for the Chinese women’s volleyball team,and also offered some reference for them so to enhance their technique and tacticsskills.Through Documentary Analysis Method, video observation, mathematicalstatistics and logical analysis, this research made a comparison and analysis on theassistant second passers’ attacking and defensive form and effect in the matchbetween the Chinese women’s volleyball team and the opponents over the30thOlympic Game and drew the following conclusions:1. There are no significant differences of the assistant second passers on age, hight,weight, height of drop shot, block height and gram request lai index between Chinesewomen’s volleyball players and the opponents’. But from the point of personal data,the average height of drop shot, block height and gram request lai index of zhang leiand Zeng chun lei exceeded the opponents. However, their average height is shorterthan the opponents.2. The assistant second passers of Chinese women’s volleyball team usually use thejump floating serves. The opponents also use the jump floating serves, except forSerbian player Stamenkovic, who usually adopts standing floating serves. Chineseteam’s directly serve scoring rate is higher than the opponents, and the opponents’tactical attack rate usually is low. Chinese team’s serves can attack well, but theserving skill is not stable and has a higher error rate than the opponents. Among allthe games, the serving result of Chinese team was better than the American team andBrazil team. But in the game against Japan, they made a very high error rate. From theview of personal serving result, Chinese player Zhang lei and Zeng chun lei had a lower directly serve scoring rate compared with the American player Steve Hooker.3. From the view of spiking form, the Chinese assistant second passers mainlyfocused in position2,3, and rear attack while position4did not attack. The opponentsspiked mainly in position2,4and rear attack while the position3attacked less; Fromthe effect of general attack, Chinese player’s average directly serve scoring rate ishigher than the opponents, and the spiking error rate matches the opponents; From theeffect of attack position spiking, Chinese players average attack effect on2and rearare better than the opponents; Compared with the rest of the player, Chinese playershave the least spiking times over the game against the US; From the view of personalspiking result, Zhang lei’s spiking score rate is high and the error rate is low, so herspiking skill is better; Zeng chun lei’s spiking score rate is high but her error rate isalso high. Her spiking quality still has a big room to improve compared with theopponents players like Steve Hooker, Sheila and Jin xi zhen.4. The Chinese women’s volleyball players mainly adopt blocking position in position2and3but block less in position4, while the opponents players have a relativelyeven-distributed position. From the view of overall blocking effect, the Chineseplayers match the opponents; From the view of blocking effect in different positions,Chinese team works best at position2but the position3and4can not do better thanthe opponents because of their higher error rate. From the view of personal blockingeffect, zhang lei and Zeng chun yan shares a medium level on their blocking effectsand they still can not catch up with the American player Steve Hooker.5. Chinese assistant second passers shoulder a heavy task on receiving and serving,but their first pass arrival rate is high and they can resist almost any attack from theopponent team. However, during the game against Japan, they had a rather high errorrate compared with the Japanese assistant second passer Risa Shinnabe.6. Chinese assistant second passers also shoulder a heavy task on attacking comparedwith the opponent players. On passing attack mission Chinese players adopt moreoverarm pass and their adjust effect is better than the opponent team. While theopponent players adjusted and attack, they maily adopt digging technique and theirarrival rate is higher than Chinese team, but their error rate is also high.7. From the view of defensive form, all the assistant second passers are concentratedin the back; Chinese players’ defense is better than the opponents’ with a high arrivalrate and low error rate; From the view of personal defensive effect, zhang lei andZeng cun lei shares a good defensive effect and can rank among the world’s highest.
