Research On The Present Situation Analysis Of Father Involvement In Children-parenting And Countermeasure

Family is fathers kingdom, mothers world, childrens paradise. One good father isbetter than one hundred teachers, the father of virtue, is the heritage of son. Thechildren’s father play an important role in the growth of children, has a uniqueinfluence on the development of children in all aspects, and it has different functionto the mother and nobodady can replace. During the research, I deeply feel howimportant the father to the children’s growth,at the same time also find thedeficiencies of fathers’ involvement in children-parenting. After a survey, most of thefather in A district of Shanghai consider that the family education is important to thechildren, and fully understanding its own important role in family education. Themain duties and responsibilities of the father in the family education that can dividedinto three types:“economical father”、”model father”and“partner father”.Fathers unique influence on children that can divided into three parts. The first partis fathers have important effects on the formation of childrens personality, thesecond part is fathers have unique effect on children’s social life; the last part isfathers have significant effects on childrens gender typing. The time of fatherinvolvement is low. The primary caregivers for children is mothers, followed by fatherand mother together, and the last is grandparents. There are five factors effecting thetime of father involvement. Among the content of father involvement, the highestscore is indirect support, the lowest score is self-learning, and then frome high to lowas follows: emotional expression, general education, rules and constraints, schoolencouragment, attention and supervision, daily interaction. The factors which influence fathers take part in children-parenting are:(1) Fathers occupation existsignificant differences in five dimensions that incluing general education, attentionand supervision, emotional expression, school encouragment and indirect support.Fathers education background exist significant differences in four dimensions thatincluing general education, attention and supervision, emotional expression andindirect support.(2) The family structure exist significant differences in the dimensonof indirect support.(3) Household income exist significant differences in fivedimensions that incluing general education, attention and supervision, emotionalexpression, school encouragment and indirect support.(4) Childrens age existsignificant differences in the dimenson of rules and constraints.(5) Childrens genderhas no significant effect on father involvement in children-parenting.(6) Whether theone-child exist significant differences in the dimenson of attention and supervision.(7) Childrens temperament affect father involvement in children-parenting.(8) Fathergender role orientation affect father involvement in children-parenting.(9) Marriagequality affect father involvement in children-parenting.(10) The traditional cultureaffect father involvement in children-parenting.
