The wide band technologies of ATM, Gigabit Ethernet, DWDM system and MPLS have gradually played a core role in backbone networks. The development of the aforesaid technologies is dependent on fiber optical communication technology. SDH equipment, optical transceiver and DWDM equipment applied to the communication enterprises are unable to operate unless the optical cable line is ensured in good condition.In failure analysis, this article is about the method how to improve the telecommunications network troubleshooting efficiency. It focuses on the analysis of dealing the processes failure in telecommunications network. The types, a variety of methods, technical difficulties and characteristics of fault alarms’ relativity analysis are discussed.In the solution aspects, design a high performance, user-friendly fault management system, it is a good troubleshooting, and the fault management function can report the operation conditions of the total network on a real-time basis through the monitoring over the equipment in the network. For the abnormal conditions in the network, the fault management function can provide the detailed information about abnormal conditions and the corresponding solutions.This paper first studies the principle and characteristics of optical fiber communication network spread, the basic principles of fault classification, transmission equipment, failure analysis, fault monitoring and maintenance, as well as the common method of failure analysis; Second, it describes the overall design of the system, mainly from the service and client, a detailed description of the overall architecture and various components of the system; Finally, the ideas and methods of the important function points.
