With rapid development of Internet technology, Internet has become animportant channel of access to different resources. For systems which provideresource retrieval service, it’s meaningful to make a better and more efficientway to find required resources from huge web sources for users.Resource retrieval service technologies represented by search engines providehigh-quality service to internet users and change ways of life more and more. With development of web computing and network environment in recentyears, concept of service-oriented is becoming more popular in resourceretrieval filed. In current number of Web resources retrieval systems, a part ofthem can automatically feedback potential search terms which are associatedwith terms entered by users based on statistical theory; While some systemscan also push related information to users in a particular manner according tocustomized information which users fill out; Besides, Some systems useSession to keep historical record of the user and then take the initiative to listvisited resource information when the user login again. Those methodsenhances the service effectiveness, improve the user experience and embodythe concept of service-oriented. However, Web resources retrieval systemscannot react to the changes of needs of users, which means current systems are lack of initiative to meet needs and changes of users in a active way. Thecapacity of the active service, especially in the resource retrieval system, hasnot been excavated at the maximum extent.Based on preliminary research, semantic ontology and user contextinformation are integrated together to format a resource retrieval activeservice model in this paper. Besides, system prototype and experimentalverification are designed based on the model. This research and findingsinclude the following aspects:An active service system model is designed. Based on semantic ontologyand user context information, potential resource requirements of users areanalyzed in order to achieve the active service for users.Active service based on user context information is proposed. Behavior ofthe user’s search and retrieval needs contain uncertainty and complexity,It’s a possible way to find user’s potential resource requirements through aspecific method of analysis of records of the user’s historical searchbehavior so as to provide active service.Based on preliminary research, A system prototype is developed to provedthe possibility of the model. A group of experiment are designed to verifythe feasibility of the active service.
