As an advanced channel coding scheme, in this thesis block Turbo code is used toresist fading in multipath channels.The thesis first gives a brief introduction to the fading in wireless mobile channels,and focus on the modeling of the fading channels. To simulate Rayleigh fading variablesin computers, one of the methods which is known as IDFT is described. The way tobuild frequency selective channel which is called tap delay line model is also shown.Then the thesis discusses the coding and decoding algorithm of block Turbo code, andsimulates the performance of block Turbo code in additive white Gaussian noisechannel and Rayleigh channel. The results of bit error rates in both channels are good.After that, the thesis researches on how to use block Turbo code to resist fading infrequency selective channel with adaptive equalization and diversity reception. Theresearch demonstrates that with multiple antennas followed by an adaptive decisionfeedback equalizer, block Turbo code could effectively resist fading in the channel.Based on that, the thesis also studies feeding back the decoding results to the equalizers,and forms the so called joint equalization and decoding scheme. The simulation resultsshows the scheme could further improve the performance of bit error rate. At last thethesis compares the block Turbo code of three dimensional with two dimensional inperformance.
