Heterogeneous network convergence and future network evolution are faced with a key problem that is how to provide more flexible services and increase the efficiency of resources utilization using multiple terminals and multiple networks. In order to solve this problem, network virtualization technology has been proposed as one of the supporting techniques. It can effectively solve the problem of current ossific network, and overcome the heterogeneity of the network, by providing flexible networking mode. Virtual resource description and virtual resource allocation are two key issues on virtual network. By analyzing network virtualization background and the changes in business roles, a resource description and discovery mechanism combined with the characteristics of virtual resources are presented in this paper, at the same time a allocation algorithm that can balance the interest of business roles is also put forward which adopts several technologies.By analyzing the characteristics of network virtualization environment, this paper draws some rules that the virtual network resource description must follow, such as cross-platform, understanding, easy processing and resource adjustment. Then, the virtual resource description mechanism in this paper based on XML language for the properties of XML language. So, fine-grained virtual resources is described by using RDF, and coarse-grained virtual resources is described by using WSDL2.0. The hybrid granularity resource description mechanism is promoted in this paper, which shows that the efficiency of resource utilization has been improved. For the problem of resource allocation, by analyzing the business model and the business roles, the algorithm also gives consideration of balancing the income of operators and users in the resource allocation. Therefore, by using the key technology of virtual path-splitting, admission control, demand forecast, information gathering and policy control in the allocation of resources, the simulation results show that the algorithm not only can achieve the dynamic allocation of resources but also ensure user’s interest.
