VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a voice communication technology using IP protocol and Internet as its transmission media. With the growing popularity of the Internet, VoIP becomes an essential service to unified communications systems.Since it’s low in cost, ease to use, flexible in scalability and excellent in QoS performance,VoIP is deemed as a strong competitor of traditional telecom services by global telecommunications and Internet industries. This paper first shed light on technologies in relevant fields, including voice codec, voice quality enhancer,two-party/multi-party voice session controlling, buffering, voice mixing, etc.Afterwards,it gave in-depth evaluation of multiple implementations of each technology about both their advantages and disadvantages.Meanwhile, this paper also put forward the author’s own solutions on related technologies of VoIP module of Instlink Client.Subsequently, this paper depicted in detail about the complete and systematical implementation of VoIP module of Instlink Client, which consists of voice session control sub-module and voice engine sub-module.Finally,we discussed some issues encountered when transplanting this VoIP module from Windows to Android OS,and presented our solutions to them.
