The mobile phone has become a necessity of our modern daily life, however, in somespecial occasions, the mobile phone may not meet the communication needs of the people.Therefore, a low-cost, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint short-range wireless voicecommunication system is also growing development. The short-range wireless voicecommunication has a very wide range of applications in many industries, such as publicsecurity, manufacture, transportation, services and so on. It is used by the group membersin order to improve the efficiency of communications and rapid response capability forhandling emergencies. Compared to the mobile telephone, it can be used without anynetwork coverage and service charge. One of the applications of this communication iswalkie-talkie, but the walkie-talkies on the market today mostly have simplex frequencyand single function, which may cause a certain degree of inconvenience. In view of this,this paper designs multi-point wireless voice communication system based on STM32toexpand the existing intercom’s simple function.The paper analyzes the current development of short-range wireless communicationstechnology and presents the overall design of STM32-based multi-point wireless voicetransmission system. With the peripheral circuit design, STM32F103RBT6serves as MCU,nRF24L01serves as wireless communication module, and VS1003B serves as voiceprocessing module, this paper completes hardware circuit design. Using hierarchical andmodular design methods on the software, the program packages individual modules intocorresponding functions to complete the function design of system initialization,communication establishment, wireless voice data transmission, and communicationfrequency automatic scanning, so as to accomplish the design of multi-point wireless voicecommunication system with the features of automatic frequency switched, unicast,multicast and broadcast. After commission and performance tested, the results show thatthis system has achieved the expected requirements. The system has characteristics of lowcost, interference, real-time and half-duplex, and can be advantageously applied to some special applications, such as fire, earthquake relief, mine, field and so on.
